Joseph C. Marti, PCC


Joseph Charles "Joe" Marti, PCC was born May 10, 1974 to Alfred and Rebecca Marti in Mount Vernon, Washington. He is the younger of two boys and was raised near Stanwood, Washington. In 1994 he moved to California to begin his education, graduating at long last with a degree in psychology from the University of San Francisco in 2001.

Research identified his Civil War ancestor, Pvt. Dietrich Bingle of the 10th New York Heavy Artillery and soon after he discovered the SUVCW. Joe has been an active member of the Sons since 2004, first with Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4 of San José, California (where he is the immediate Past Camp Commander), and then with General George Wright Camp 23 of Sacramento, California since 2013. Currently he serves as the editor of both the The California Column (the newsletter of the Department of California & Pacific) and The Western Dispatch (the newsletter of the 6th Military District, SVR). He is also currently serving as captain in the 6th Military District, SVR as both Chief of Staff and Public Information Officer.

He has moved many times within the state and has happily called both Southern and Northern California home. On November 25th, 2006 he married the former Charlene Kathryn Rae (Katie) Cozad at St. Canice Catholic Church in Nevada City, California. They are proud and happy parents to four future Allied Orders members: Anna, Grace, Julia, and Elizabeth. He and his family reside in Auburn, California.
