The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a patriotic and educational organization, similar to the Grand Army of the Republic. It was founded on November 12, 1881 and incorporated by Act of Congress August 20, 1954. The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is the legal heir to and representative of the Grand Army of the Republic.
 

The William T. Sherman Camp No. 28 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) was established on July 24, 2006, and was named for Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman (1820-1891).

  • AREA: The Camp serves Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
     
  • MEETINGS: 12:00 noon on the second Wednesday of January, March, May, July, September, November. Meetings generally take place at the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society Sayhun Library located at 316 Castillo Street, Santa Barbara, California.
